What happens if joy is not separate from pain? What if joy and pain are fundamentally tangled up with one another? What if joy is not only entangled with pain, or suffering, or sorrow, but is also what emerges from how we care for each other through those things? —Ross Gay
Whew. This has been a week that simultaneously had us feeling all the feels; and yet, kind of numb. I didn’t think I made many good friends here cause I don’t see them often, but the ones I do have have really impact me, and saying goodbye has hurt my heart.
Locking our door for the last time, knowing we going back in, was really hard.
Now that we’re out, we know we made the right decision and we know there is more adventure ahead. The sorrow and joy are existing simultaneously, one and the same.

We managed to fit in some cool stuff in our last week. Seeing some friends, a last visit to Smith Rock, a hike closer to the rainforest, etc. It would never be enough, since there’s so much to do here, but we did it right with the time we had.
Now both vehicles and two uhaul pods are full of stuff and were heading out.
We’re stopping in Idaho, then Moab, Utah and should be in Albuquerque by Monday. Even though I don’t get paid, I’m so grateful to have next week off to settle and have some down time. And delicious New Mexican food.
If anyone is bored this weekend, please feel free to call and say hi and keep me awake while driving, we have about 8 hours each day.
On to new adventures!
